SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
SAM119 back stories:
We'd like to hear ideas for back stories to any of the major characters in the SAM119 mini series. There are character specific giudelines available
for those interested in submitting these.
Detective/adventure stories:
People with a genuine mystery story in them, which would work well in comic book format are welcomed to submit. This genre can include sci-fi, western, and other forms of mysteries. These neednt be strictly speaking a
'Christian message' comic, we are looking also for excellent standard, wholesome entertainment. If Herge came to us with Tintin, we wouldnt have
turned him away! Editorial standards would be rigorous at our end, and writers would have to agree to be bound by our say on whether something is ok morally or not.
Creative stories with a Christian message:
We are interested in hearing about stories which embody something of a Christian message - this is a broad category. Ranging from allegory, broadly evangelistic, and mystical, to stories which tackle diffcult subjects, 'why does God allow suffering?' We dont want just sunday school stuff, we're interested in people really tackling subjects hard.
We don't want:
Horror, violence or occult based stories. (Although Horror elements may be acceptable in the comtext of one of the genres detailed above). We dont wish to promote or condone violence, and we dont want to try and tackle occult themes.
We also dont want (at the moment) any submissions for stories set in the future of SAM119's world. We may be working on such stories ourselves, and dont want to end up pinching other people's ideas.
Other creative forms:
As well as strict comics, we are interested in hearing about other creative projects, we wouldnt be averse to looking at submissions for novels, or even short films, music based projects etc. However, as we dont offer advances, you might be better served to go elsewhere. We're still interested though!
If you get to the bottom of this list, and havent read anything that matches your creative idea, then dont worry. You can still make a submission - in the first instance, send us an email with an elevator pitch for the story. If we're interested we'll ask for a fuller synopsis, and if we like that
we'll take it further.
