Brothers - the fall of Lucifer #1 published by Markosia.

Original story by Wendy Alec, adapted by Tony Lee, Art by Sam Hart, Letters
by Richard Emms.

This highly unusual story will intrigue readers from all backgrounds. We're
catapulted into heavenly realms where brother angels Lucifer, Michael and
Gabriel are living a good life - unaware of the events about to befall them.

Its a unique concept which I found a little dis-orienting. I haven't read the book, so am fresh to the story. On reflection I believe that this could prove to be an excellent way to begin approaching an understanding of the
'reality' of spiritual realms.

Its an extraordinary mix of sci fi, traditional 'swords and wings' style angels, and a collection of odd characters, many of whom have strange beards, and one of whom has an owl on his shoulder!

Possibly I am a bit dim, but I found the beginning of the comic a little confusing, and had to re-read it to check that I wasn't wrong about who was who...

That aside its certainly an intriguing start to a series of comics which are based upon a story written by Wendy Alec, co-founder of the God Channel. I suppose that the fact she is not British comes through in the story, which certainly seems a little foreign.

That's just me though - lots of other people love the story, and I am certainly not against it - just a little bamboozled!

The artwork is not quite to my taste - although it is flawless. It has a kind of old-fashioned look - particularly in the angels scenes - not quite as visually pleasing as some other Markosia titles, but of a very high standard technically. Actually I am nit picking - please don't be put of by my opinion which is entirely subjective.

There is an epic feel to the comic as a whole, which the art fully supports,
perhaps more rock than pop.

I would recommend the comic - despite my personal slight confusion, particularly, I think, to younger readers who will absorb the angelic imagery with less of a cynical eye.

Older readers who like this kind of swords and sci-fi stuff will love it too.

Spiritually it seems like an interesting take on the Lucifer story, I certainly want to read more.

Guidance: This comic is suitable for all ages - it contains a preview for
Shadowmancer #5 which some parents might feel is a little frightening for
very young children.
